‘Frames’ is a journey into the moments where sound and visuals converge. The album emerged spontaneously from a series of improvisational sessions, where the duo explore the boundaries of silence and space. Each track draws from ambient soundscapes, transporting the listener through the lens of imaginary cameras, capturing fleeting moments that may have never existed, yet feel intimately familiar.

Built mostly on pure improvisation, the album invites listeners to find their own interpretations within its evolving atmospheres. The music is organic and alive, shaped by instinctive decisions made in the moment. The track titles are inspired by the theme of cameras and photography, reflecting the idea of freezing moments or allowing them to flow freely by. Each piece acts like a unique, visual snapshot, captured through the medium of sound.

There are no right or wrong interpretations of this record. a.m. Being seeks to capture the quiet, the stillness, and the sense of possibility that dawn can bring. It is a sonic exploration of light and shadow, of musical landscapes that constantly shift, like the focus of a camera lens.

In this album, sound carries a dual meaning: it is at once a fleeting glimpse of something recognizable and a completely new experience. The music, like the click of a camera, captures a brief instant that opens the door to infinite possibilities.

The songs were born out of the desire of their authors to try a new ways of expression in which not much has been agreed in advance, improvisation taking place in a studio environment. Each song is videotaped with four cameras and the listener can see the process of creating each song from the videos found on youtube.

‘Frames’ is the second album by a.m. Being and it will be released November 15th, 2024.

Artist info

a.m. Being is an electro-acoustic duo formed by Saaramaija Zorawski and Juha Tuukkanen. Their music, driven by improvisation, blends Zorawski’s flute, saxophone, guitar, and vocals with Tuukkanen’s live effects, synths, and mixing. Simultaneous improvisation and mixing form musical pieces whose spectrum ranges from minimalistic, folk song-like melodies to rich layers of sound.

a.m. Being released debut album ‘Monad’ in March 2022. Tracks on the album were recorded mostly as first takes and the video-recordings of each song are available on Youtube.
